Toronto Hydro’s Energy Conservation Agreement
Toronto Hydro announced last month that they will be teaming up with the Ministry of Energy in a project called the “Long-Term Energy Plan”. The purpose of this “renewed commitment to
conservation and demand management (CDM)” is to reach seven billion kilowatt hours by 2020 in Ontario – 1.58 TWh of it having been allocated to Toronto Hydro.
Chris Tyrell, the Executive Vice-President and Chief Customer Care and Conservation Officer at Toronto Hydro says, “we look forward to being able to offer our customer CDM programs that will help them conserve energy, become more efficient and ultimately lower their energy consumption and cost”. We, the consumers, look forward to see that happen, Chris.
